Rachel Ashwell inspired sunroom in the works and missing all my blog parties!

I am linking to all my favorite parties to well explain what I am working on and why

I have missed all my favorite blog parties because....................Instead of completing items to show I have been hunting items to paint, nail and put in my Rachel Ashwell inspired sunroom. ( I am trying to get the grand Rachel look for under (500.00) Including furniture, paint, rug, bedding for selfmade L Shape lounger.  I have always loved Rachel's taste and after reading her blog and new book  (I have been following her since her first and cherish all of them). I did notice her style is a little more toned down with a little more rustic added and that is fitting my style evolution to the T for now.......

Let me show you a couple of finds and what I am working on

This is four salon shampoo chairs that recline and one plastic walmart loveseat, 2 Rachel Ashwell target
queen sets with shams, 2 Potterybarn rouched  shams and 2 Rachel accent pillows, my husband took the comfort test and  said this will totally work! My daughters friend said it is so pretty and comfy..........
Mushy comfort with reclining seats!  40.00 for furniture!!! and the sisal rug from PB was marked off 57.00 because it had been used on display!! Walked away with it for 90.00

This table will be painted and have a  vintage turqoise candydish on top it is in the corner of the grouping

little farmhouse table with some vintage

This morning I went to hardware store for casters and it was cheaper to buy a movers trolley with 4 caster attached for 21.00 then I had to think what to put on top for coffee table/ottoman so I went in my husbands shed on the hill and found this antique box that housed an ole saw......I called and asked first!  The piece of board that is on top will be secured and have a leather like material tufted to it with buttons and we can roll around put our feet on it or put a tray for drinks the red part of trolley will be covered with the same white/faux leather material and box opens for storage!

look at the hardware and patina!

I have no idea how old but this is the original french blue paint and patina!  Original patina needs to be cherished!

Target had 19.00 curtains already ruffled that I will add jute string to tie and make a petticoat
for my treadmill no more eyesore and easy to remove and put back on........see that old 1940's carved wood gold mirror that I got back yesterday.  was mine for 8 years sold it 8 years ago, found it again and finally bought it.......again......... will be mounted on what will be white walls next to treadmill

I think the table will work nicely for this sectional you can not see the two tiered corner table because the piece is so dark. and the ceiling is brown, (soon to be painted)

hubby had another amno box that will be fixed into a french wine box........I will
attach wine opener to side and a bottle opener........restoration hardware style

Pb find, This tray will be movable to put on coffee table when serving  refreshments!
and the little runner at the bottom is simply a 12.00 target rouched scarf that was the perfect color to remind me of sea water and tranquility. I am having an awesome etsy shop owner make me twig letters that say
"tranquility" to hang on the landing part of the sunroom!

my little 14.00 book endtable to be painted
will house my books and anxiously anticipated books!

magazine end table 10.00 to be painted there is one on each end of the l shape

The only Item I still need to hunt is a  smaller chandy all else just needs to be painted! The brown area above will be white with the tranquility twig letters acrossed it!

And I found a vintage creamer for my new little coffee area that will overlook foutain of pool
I cannot wait to say goodbye Medditeranean sun (orange)  and Hello White Shabby Tranquility!

Update.........went antiquing and here is a door for the brick wall.

door has pink salmon, natural wood, grey and green paint peeking out!

And Last but not least!!!!

I am Sewing an item for my 100th follower (Linda @ Costal Charm) sorry it is taking so long I just had to find the right colors of linen.........inspired by Linda's  having a coastal blog and Rachel's colorscheme on the back of her book.........picture shown is rachels book and the linen I just bought today! White linen ruffles against aqua sea colored linen and a little jute.......what will the item/items be?  You got to come back to find out!
(will be completed and ready to ship in a couple of days Linda)

Since I got so much material....................When I reveal the sunroom I will have a second giveaway so hope you follow and come back to see my completed Rachel Ashwell Inspired "Tranquility Room"!

Till then I will be sewing, painting, nailing and wine testing...................

  7. Thanks everyone and to john, the l shaped consists of 4 garage sale salon chairs 40.00 the plastic walmart seat was on clearance for 8.00 years ago shop at the end of the season at walmart for one! The two sets of bedding were 89.00 each and I added two throw pillows @ 24.00 each and two rouched at 49.00 but these were not totally necessary. One could get the same look for alot less if they sew the pillows or get cheaper pillows. the other pillows that are inside the shams that came with the comforter sets were odds I had around the house so yes one could easily get a shabby chic style with garage sale finds, all my end tables are yard sale or good sales at antique stores most of my end tables were 10-15 dollar range and the coffee table will be completed for under 50.00. I will give a total cost analysis when room is complete!
