Game On

I am on a furniture kick this week, Last week sewing this week furniture!

I wanted to share with you yesterdays work I started at 6 a.m. and completed at 12 afternoon

I am calling this table  Shabby French mom Cave Table     "Game On"

 Game On Table  the beginning

After sanding top and several applications of wood stain, I used a dark walnut on oak, primed the table and then painted a sugar cane but this baby wanted color so I then painted french provencial blue and distressed
and used a wipe on polyurethan allover with three coats on top
and here she is I was not sure what I would do with her when I started but she talked to me she said give "give me color"

She said "distress me heavily for character!"

She said " hmmmmmmmmm I kinda look good with that fabric over there........"

"I wonder if those old salon chairs covered with fabric would look good under me"

They recline are the perfect heigth and have plenty of cush for long hours spent with games, puzzles, chats
And then she said I know call me "Game ON"

I truly don't know what I color I will use or exactly what I will do until I start, until I get my hands on the piece of furniture I had no plan and had no idea those salon chairs would fit perfectly under this table.  So over the next couple of days I will be making slipcovers for the salon chairs cut to make sure that they can still recline and can come off for cleaning,

What do you think wouldn't this make a perfect table for a "Mom Cave"!!

.Have a wonderful Thursday and I promise when the table is done I will take "staged pictures"  not just garage work shop pics.........
