Shabby Chic Chair Covers and 2 Giveaways!

Over the next week I will go into more detail on the My Parisian Flat Studio Mom Cave makeover.
Today I would like to show how I repurposed some items I had and made two chairs for daughter and I to use for our sewing desk. Coming Up Friday I will be posting my giveaway winners and will go into more detail with pictures of the "BirdCage" Lamp.  In the meantime I am sewing a few more things for my etsy shop! I will be adding Mother/Daughter frill aprons and a couple new bags!.

Vintage Chic Chairs

I hunted for vintage chairs and most of the wood ones I found were rather rickety.  I found two metal ice cream parlor chairs at an antique store $60.00 for the set, they are extremely sturdy,  very  Vintage Chic and already white!

Problem
cushions.......and something for the feet so they do not scrape my hardwood floor.


I found an inspiration picture over at MaryJane's Beehive Cottage, she has a very nice blog with loads of inspiration!  And her cute little gift tags are awesome I have some of them hanging around my inspiration corner of my sewing room!


Solutions

I had two old pottery barn cushions that were being thrown away as they had been used on the front porch for a few years and had seen better days. I literally picked them up from the top of the trashcan out back where we had previously thrown them , and I sanitized them in my washing machine and it took away the mildew stains, rainspots etc, with plenty of bleach.......

I then cut part of the painters tarp and made "boots", tied with twine to keep chairs from scraping the wood

I stuffed my cushions in a vintage King Size Rose Chrocheted pillowcase and tied the cushion to the chair

I tied the tops of the pillowcase together with twine to hold it in, I loved that I can untie to wash and the pillowcases were not in anyway altered or cut, they can be used as pillowcases once again if need be.

I also tied the two front edges of the pillow to the front legs of chair with twine

I tied twin around the back to keep slipcover from slipping

These are working great for us! And very economical! Perfect for our Parisian Flat Sewing Studio!
