Yesterday's Furniture Renovations
I moved my furniture and put a tarp down in the sunroom (sunroom still unpainted) This gave me the ability to paint furniture in the air conditioning looking out at my pool and back yard, it was so pleaseant that I just painted, painted and painted being perfectly comfortable. Here is yesterdays work A few pieces still need wax and a little distressing but here goes.
End table, mirror, a few smalls. I am enjoying sanding the tops of wood tables staining and painting the rest for contrast. If the top is beautiful wood then it stays!
Just loving painting with air conditioning and a pool view. Jumped in the pool after my work was done!!
My husband "picked" some of these pieces for me I am loving the two tone french blue and mahogany magazine table. I am enjouing aqua, french blues, greys, stark whites and creamy antiqued white, two tone is one of my favorite things to do!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Everything looks so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou did all that in one day? They are gorgeous. I like the idea that if the top is good wood it stays.
ReplyDeleteTammy I find that if I do several pieces at a time it is alot less time consuming, I sand what needs to be sanded in garage, pull into painting area prime everything, primer is dry on first pieces by the time you finish the others, coat with different colors of a paint again first piece is dry by the time you finish last for second coat, all this was in about 5 hours but still needs final wax buff, distress work as it has to completely cure ideally for 24 hours before those steps. I work the same way when sewing it is easier to make 5-7 bags or aprons at the same time, than one from start to completion.

You've been a busy girl! I love everything you've done. I really like leaving the tops in a natural or stained condition. Painting in the air conditioning is sure easier than 93 degrees in the garage!

Everything looks great Sherry...loving those shades right now too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces! I love that little round table with the detailed 'ledge' on top! I also just finished a table and refinished the top -- it is a great contrast like you say!
